We always want everyone to feel fully comfortable and confident in us and encourage a Doors Always Open Policy for all members of the organization and encourage you to let us know of any questions, concerns, complaints, etc, that you may have. This will remain fully anonymous, unless you choose to let us know.
Things to Remember: Updated 11/9/24
- NO human food is to be given to any dogs, EVER.
- Pick up all food bowls by end of shift and wash out, unless directed specifically to do otherwise.
- All clips should be clipped in the back of the runs for the water bowls at all times.
- Slip leads or leashes must be used at all times to bring dogs in and out from the yards.
- KONGS: Do not stuff the Kongs with food, this causes an issue where rancid food is left in them for days which is disgusting and could cause a digestive issue. If a Kong has ANY damage, throw it out.
- Please turn off the large fan, dishwasher, washer, and/or dryer whether or not the clothes/dishes are done when you leave. It is a fire hazard to leave them on unattended.
- A Note on Doggy Field Trips: Please contact Julie and/or Kelly for doggy field trips. We and the dogs would LOVE for more people to take our pups out on field trips. To dog friendly coffee shops or restaurants, the park if appropriate, etc, we just need to know ahead of time. ALWAYS remember to note it in the log below with your name, the dog or dogs you’re taking, and a phone number you can be reached at. Remember only one dog per person.

Macho back after rabies shot.
Messes: Emmy, Casey, Sparky, Faith. Greg had no pee or poo (Julie aware). Chores done, med given, dryers emptied, 2 loads laundry completed, 1 load dishes completed, yards scooped repeatedly, poop bags to dumpster, Iso’s bleached/rinsed, donations processed, plants watered. Everyone ate well. Greg had to be held and hand fed over 25 min to get him to eat his minimum amount. I left the food with him in case he would eat some more. Lux jumped over the gate and surprised me when I opened the back door.
Lux can jump the back yard gate, so he needs to be put out in the front yard only. There is a paper on his run stating he jumps the gate.
Great second shift, Susie! Messes: Wolfie, Faith, puppies There are ants in Gregg’s run, so we cleaned it out and moved him to the other side between Lux and Casey Jo. She was fine in there during the shift, but we put her in the little pop up tent per Chyanne once we left so that she wouldn’t escape cause she’s so tiny. Chyanne will bring ant poison. The ants didn’t get into Roscoe’s run. Meds given. Lux was licking hit front right paw, it looked red, keep an eye on it please. Sorry Katlyn and I’s log entry didn’t post last week. I swear I hit post but I guess that old computer was worn out and just couldn’t handle it. From last week: Note to adoptions crew: please pick up all food, drinks, cigarette butts, pens, papers and any other items you bring outside. Last week there were pens, files, the foster log book, an open back of pizza flavored chips, a cigarette butt and other items. Drako, Greg and Sparkie were slow to eat. But about 1/2 way through shift we added a little water to each’s food and they cleaned their bowls.

Pretzel was accidentally put out with Wolfie. In my defense, faith and pretzel look exactly alike in a sleep addled brain. We now know Pretzel and Wolfie will make great playmates when pretzel is taken off iso.

Skippy back from spay. Rimadyl 25mg, 1 tab 2xday with food. She has a leash and medication to go with her back to foster. Not sure when the pickup back to foster is..

Messes: Pretty much everyone except Scruffy and Macho Lalo had soft stool Meds given. I marked on the syringe what .6 CC is in case if anyone was confused. The committee changed a few of the dogs names. Shaggy is now Greg and Lalo is now Lego. Shaggy (AKA Greg) should only be in the puppy pen. He is far too small to be anywhere else outside. Messes: Puppies, Faith, Wolfie, Pretzel, Lego Drako didn’t really want to eat but we did finally get him to take his meds. He wouldn’t take his med with a pill pocket or peanut butter. So after we cleaned most of the runs Katelyn sat with him for a bit. She took the meds out of the pill pocket and was able to put them in his mouth and hold his mouth closed until he swallowed them. Messes everyone but Scruffy, Lux, Rosco and Lalo. Prezal had liquid poop multiple times in her kennel. Rosco, Lalo and the puppies all had very soft stool. Beowulf peed on his bed. I brought it outside and washed it of and le it dry. In this heat it was dry by the endo o the shift. Everyone ate, Lux on a plate. Meds given and chores done. Lux destroyed a stuffed animal I caught him before he got the squeaker out. Very hot unpleasant afternoon.

Ace was adopted today!
Our Wed night log indicated it had to be “approved” before post but never did actually post so this is just to aware others we were there and fed, medicated and did all chores . Everyone ate well . Olivia brought Dolly back and she ate upon arriving . Ashley brought a new dog in last night around 5:30ish and Chyanne came and moved dogs around again to prepare for two more new dogs coming in today. Lots of outdoor time for all.

Messes Puppies, Shaggy, Faith and Beowulf. The puppies had very soft poop and were covered in it. I wiped them down the best I could. Just a suggestion, can we move the puppies out of the kennel they are in? It is the hardest kennel to lock and when there are 3 puppies in it that want to escape it makes taking them in and out hard when there is only one person on the shift. There are 2 extra large beds, one with extra covers that were donated. Too big for our use here. Does anyone want them? One is drying on one of the carts and the one with covers is by the front bench by the computer. I’ve washed them all. Power is on and A/C running! Messes: All but Topeka. **6pm during shift- Ashley dropped off new dog- Clair. She’s in Norma Jean’s old kennel. We fed her 1/2 cup dog food and provided water and toys. Also, she has worms
