We always want everyone to feel fully comfortable and confident in us and encourage a Doors Always Open Policy for all members of the organization and encourage you to let us know of any questions, concerns, complaints, etc, that you may have. This will remain fully anonymous, unless you choose to let us know.
Things to Remember: Updated 3/3/26
- NO human food. Pick up all food bowls by end of shift. Turn off dryer/ dishwasher/washing machine before leaving. Leave on radio, and in morning leave garage doors half open.
- KONGS: Do not stuff the Kongs with food, treats, meats, peanut butter, etc. This causes an issue where food stuck inside goes rancid and can make the dogs ill.
- Medical Issues: Always alert Julie by text to any medical issue. Soft stool, wounds, any odd behavior such as lethergy, noticing repeated notations of not eating etc.
- A Note on Doggy Field Trips: Please contact Julie and/or Kelly for doggy field trips. We and the dogs would LOVE for more people to take our pups out on field trips. To dog friendly coffee shops or restaurants, the park if appropriate, etc, we just need to know ahead of time. ALWAYS remember to note it in the log below with your name, the dog or dogs you’re taking, and a phone number you can be reached at. Remember only one dog per person.

Dishes in dishwasher are clean, ones stacked on top are dirty (didn’t have time to run another load)
Both dryers need to be restarted.
Did training with Dorff. He’s doing great with sit, wait, and drop it. Started teaching him leave it (first stage using highly-preferred and low-preferred food) and he caught on pretty quick. Also started fading the edibles for sit.
Patches liked playing fetch outside with tennis balls!
Everyone got enrichment tonight! YAY!

Topeka ate only about a third of her food. Everyone else ate well.
Laundry washed and started in dryer. It will probably need to be rerun.

Had a good amount of time outside for everypup but Wendy, since it was just me.

Meds given and chores done. Did extra cleaning on Dorff’s run including his walls.
Celine and Zoey and lots of fun playing together. Zoey even gets sassy with her Mama.
All pups enjoyed the beautiful weather today and lots of outside time.
Clothes in dryer is still damp. We folded and put away what was fully dry.
Slow adoptions but we did get a possible for Andy!!! You may not know him he’s been a foster dog but he’s a mess, so we are very excited to see if this works out! Julie thinks Wendy’s paw/leg slice is from her plexiglass so we covered the edges she has acceess to with duct tape to see if that works. Please donn’t make us go back to your kennel in a kennel Wendy Lou Who!!!

Everyone got a lot of time in the sun and needed convincing to come inside.
Drako question guys: So he’s tough to give the ball up too? In an intimidating, guarding way, or in a no I’M HAVING FUN I WON’T DO IT kid dives under the water every time Mom calls way? What’s up with the Walmart cart at our door?
I think one of our neighbors has a walmart cart? Building with Ritchie– I think it’s usually in their parkinglot. I don’t know people like to steal them. Far as I know we don’t have one, maybe Libby saw it and borrowed it to haul off some of the food from that kennel?

Drako did NOT want to come inside. Was playing with the ball like Gwen used to play with the leash where I was almost afraid to take it from him because he’d growl even though he was being playful.
Dorff got a “pedicure.” Just bathed his legs. He was very well behaved until he peed the second he went back in his run

Sometimes he is having sooo much fun out there he squeals too😂. I usually just sit on one of the tramp beds and he eventually comes over and gives it up .

Newbie: Patches (female). Very friendly and loving but terrified. Gave her a Malaseb bath as she had dead fleas and skin issues on her ears. Did not poo or pee throughout shift.
Last minute breaks and treats given.
Adoptions dead. No one came. Thems the breaks sadly. Outfitted all the dogs with breakaway collars so they at least have identification. Do not try to grab this collar and think you have control of them, they are meant to break away at any pressure which will save them from being strangled if they ever got caught on something. Continue to use a harness for walking. Dorff now has a training protocol. He’s a sweet goober but a big one and doesn’t have many manners. Messes Dorff, Pretzel and Zoey. Wendy peed before we could get her out. Wendy’s stool was soft when she went outside. Everyone ate and meds were given. Chores done sorry about the laundry. There wasn’t much to begin with, but such is the wonder of Dorff and his amazing bladder. Lots of outside time. The fan in the front over Drako and Lucy’s kennel is making a sound like it wants to take flight.

Sorry I forgot to make notes at Adoptions yesterday. I’m here today to deliver Mira to her new home. We put up Plexiglass inside Wendy’s kennel in the hopes that it would make it impossible for her to climb her run and no longer be stuck inside of a kennel inside of her run. If she is still able to put the kennel back in and we will try to find another idea. Safety first.
I wanna try again having a bed for wendy. Now that she’s not limited to a kennel in her run I hope she won’t soil it now that she can move around. If she reads it up it keeps working it well remove it again. Put in her kennel at 2pm Sunday. I

Joe, did he have a soft rubber toy in his run from Sat PM? I swear all he had was hard bones and the 2 outside plastic balls.

Lucy’s blanket in the wash. All dogs spent ALOT of time outside as I knew rain was on the way. Celine played with her 2 pups and then separate remainder of shift. Toys bleached.
