Why Should You Become a CAAWS Member?

Become a CAAWS member to help us make the world a better place for animals. Memberships are the primary source of funding for the everyday activities of CAAWS. Membership dues support outreach programs, animal care, and maintain the only true “no-kill” shelter in our area.

When you become a CAAWS member, you are helping save the lives of countless animals, keep the animal population healthy and under control, and educate the community about humane animal treatment.

Members have the right to vote for board members and attend special events and activities. Have a direct impact on the well-being of animals in the Baton Rouge community and be a part of the decision-making process at CAAWS by becoming a CAAWS member.

Who Can Become a CAAWS Member?

Anyone can become a CAAWS member. Family memberships allow youth to become part of CAAWS, but only adults over 18 years old may vote. Members can double their impact by fostering a dog or cat, volunteering at the shelter on adoption days, or participating in our programs, activities, and events.

You can be a role model and encourage others to join our “CAAWS.” The more members we gain, the more abused and neglected animals we can save.

Testimonial

Susie Massey and Tico

“I adopted Tico from CAAWS. He has my heart. The volunteers take a real interest in matching the right dog to the right owner. They have followed up with me and offered good advice.”
