CAAWS couldn’t help the animals in the Baton Rouge area without your help and kind donations. Our non-profit organization receives no government funding and functions solely with the help of volunteers. Your assistance is what allows us to operate our community veterinary care assistance and low-cost spay/neuter programs.
All donations go directly to animal care, medical expenses, shelter expenses, pet supplies, and more.
The CAAWS Heartworm Treatment Fund was created specifically to treat heartworm-positive dogs in our program that came to us from other shelters. Heartworms in South Louisiana are fatal in dogs, so we are raising money to buy heartworm preventative medication for our shelter dogs. Without treatment, dogs will die from heartworms. This painful and deadly disease does NOT go away on its own. It’s up to compassionate people like you to help contribute to this fund. Please open your heart and donate.
In honor of Felix, the Felix Fund allows other animals to have a fighting chance by covering emergency vet costs of CAAWS’ adoptable or returned pets. To read Felix’s story click here.
Donate Supplies
CAAWS can use your help not only through monetary donations but also through pet supplies donations. We ask for items such as collars and leashes, cleaning supplies, and more.
Item donations can be brought to the shelter at any time and left by the gate on the right side of the building.
Our most needed contributions include:
- Blankets
- Brushes for Dogs/Cats
- Cat Bedding
- Cat Collars (breakaway collars only)
- Cleaning Supplies & Materials
- Dog Collars (breakaway or snap collars only, no buckles, any size)
- Dog Crates
- Durable Dog/Cat Toys
- Litter Boxes
- Pet Shampoo (like oatmeal or flea shampoos)
- Towels
- And More
