Public Adoptions Assistance – Put a Pet Up for Adoption

We understand that sometimes a pet needs to go up for adoption. If you have a pet you can no longer keep, or are providing temporary care for a stray animal, CAAWS operates two Public Assistance Adoption programs that can help.

By registering in one or both of our programs, CAAWS can provide excellent exposure for adoption opportunities. Our volunteers work hard to make sure an animal can find a new loving home.

If you are interested in listing your dog or cat alongside all of our other adoptable pets on our website, we ask for a $20 listing fee and the medical records, a brief description, and a picture of your animal.

Your pet will also be listed on PetFinder.com and AdoptAPet.com to maximize the chances that the pet will be found by a new family.

To ensure a healthy adoptable animal, and due to our current adoption guidelines, CAAWS requires all animals to be checked by a vet before being registered in our Public Assistance Programs.

We ask that if you have not or are not able to meet the veterinary requirements for admission to please wait to contact us about putting a pet up for adoption.

Our organization offers resources that might help get you and your animal ready for adoption. We can also advise on the best method to re-home your pets with or without our assistance.

Testimonial

Megan Simon and Lincoln

“Lincoln is such a large part of my life and I cannot imagine life without him. … I cannot thank you enough for giving me the opportunity to have Lincoln in my life. He has made a world of difference and got me out of a funk I was stuck in. He has given blood twice already saving many lives being a universal donor. He did get car sick often, but if he can put his head out the window he does soo much better. We had to get protective eyewear so he doesn’t get dry eye or bugs in his eyes. I can’t put into words how much he has changed my life.”
