Cuddle Bear Watch Cuddle Bear on

My
name is Cuddle Bear and I, along with a bunch of my Chihuahua friends,
were rescued from a very bad living environment. (Can you say “backyard
breeder”?)
Anyway, we were rescued and I found my way to CAAWS in
hopes that they can find me my next loving, caring, devoted family.
I am a male Chihuahua born approximately 1/03. I have
been neutered, brought up to date on shots and have tested heartworm
negative on (7/14/10) after completing heartworm treatment.
I
also do not have many teeth left due to my previous non-medical care,
but I do fine eating soft food or having my hard food softened. I am
very scared and timid when first meeting someone, but if you hold me and
tell me that it is all going to be ok and that you will never send me
back to that awful place that I came from, I’ll open up and trust you.
Since my health and well being were ignored, I don’t
have many teeth left, so soft food mixed with a little hard (to help the
ones I do have) really is helpful when eating breakfast and supper. I
know it takes a little more time to prepare, but I promise I’m worth it. |
Bailey

What’s
your favorite color? Mine too! What’s your
favorite flower? Mine too!! Favorite movie? Mine
too!!!
Gosh, with so much in common, we
were meant to be together. So, just sign on the
dotted line and let’s go home.
I’m
Bailey, a female Shepherd mix born approximately
3/08. I am up to date on shots, spayed and
heartworm negative. I am a sweet young girl that
loves to give hugs, likes other dogs, kids and
adults. |

Angel

My
name is Angel (need I say more) and I am a female Border Collie/Terrier
mix born approximately 10/09. I am up to date on shots, spayed and
current on heartworm prevention.
I thought I had found my forever home for Christmas, but
seems I can be a little food aggressive with other dogs and that ended
me right back where I started. I don’t mind if humans get close to my
food, it’s just something about another four-legger trying to get my
kibble. Guess I was on my own long enough to learn to “protect” my food
from other strays such as myself.
I
was originally found trying to check myself into a local daycare. I had
heard that they always have good snacks and the kids usually need a good
licker to get the remaining food off their faces there.
I get along with cats, dogs (when we aren’t around tasty
vittles) and kids. Please consider letting me join your family. I’ll
work on my table manners if you promise to love me. |
Cooper

Hi,
my name is Cooper and I cannot hear. I can see, love, eat, play and
everything else a normal dog can do, but I am deaf.
Don’t feel sorry for me, sometimes this is a real
advantage. You know how you have those annoying people that you wish
would just quit talking, I can’t hear them. Unfortunately, I can’t hear
the ones I love either.
I was surrendered to CAAWS because my previous family
was expanding and they didn’t have the room or time for me anymore.
I
am a male Boston Terrier born on 6/25/04, I am up to date on shots,
neutered and tested negative for heartworms. I love playing with other
dogs and love playing tug-o-war. I would be a great pet to add to your
family, just understand that unless you get my attention, I won’t come
when called if I’m looking in a different direction or in a different
room. |
| Remember, Saturday 11 AM-3 PM is adoption day at the shelter.

Laverne
The name’s Laverne, and I’m a female Terrier/Lab mix born approximately
1/07.
I am up to date on shots, spayed and heartworm negative.
Here’s the scoop on me. Late one night, my previous
people dumped my sister, Shirley, and I on the road because they decided
they didn’t love us anymore. I don’t get it. What’s not to love.
We get along great with other dogs (especially with each
other - in case you’re looking for two), cats and adults.
We
are very shy at first, so a home without small children would be best
for us. Anyway, since getting out of the car wasn’t an option, here we
are – cute, sweet, loving and available.
Everyone tells us we will not be that way for long (the
available part of course) and I sure hope they are right.

Here!
Wow!
Can you see my ribs and hipbones in my picture?
Well, I know I feel them when I lay down. When
that many are poking ok, it cannot be good.
I was found by a good Samaritan and now I am
finally able to eat on a daily basis and sleep
inside an air conditioned place.
CAAWS has brought me up to date on shots, spayed
me and tested me for heartworms. After
completing heartworm treatment I have tested
heartworm negative on 7/14/10.
I
know it is hard to believe that a Pit Bull could
get along with other dogs and cats, but I do and
I am a female Pit. The vet estimated that I was
born 8/07, so I’m a young gal.
Are you the ones who will show me how good life
really is and help me fill in the empty spaces
in my life? |
| Our thanks to all of you helping foster CAAWS pets while they await
adoption. |

Celeste
When
she knocked on the door of the CAAWS building, she was looking for a
place to stay and someone that would tell her why her hair was so sparse
in places.
Well, once brought to the vet, it was determined that
Celeste has Demodex Mange. It is non-contagious and she had treatment
for it and should soon have a full body of hair.
She
is a female Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix born approximately 6/09.
She has
been spayed, brought up to date on shots and tested negative for
heartworms. She has been around children and seems to do fine. She
would even love her own two-legged child to sleep with at night.
Celeste is a true sweetheart and has a lot of love to
give a family. |
Tuck

Thanks to Cindy M. for being Tuck's Best Buddy!
What
is it like? Having a home to go to every night and being able to go
into stores that will let you walk in and come out with food.
Since 12/07 (my approximate date of birth) I’ve tried
this life, but the humans just wouldn’t let it be. I showed up at a
house once to rest my weary bones but was quickly turned away. I tried
the nearest store for food, but was chased away again.
Then
came the dreaded day when I was picked up by animal control. Hi, my
name is “no – bad dog!” Since that was so hard to say, I changed it to
Tuck (since my way of living was tucking my tail and running). Things
are looking up for me now since I’m a resident of CAAWS. It’s been a
pretty rough life so far, and I’m ready to settle down. Can you help me
out?
The CAAWS people think I am a mixture of black Lab and
McNab. I am up to date on shots, was neutered and have completed
heartworm treatment as of 7/10. I get along with other dogs. But I am
an all around loving guy with a great personality and who loves to greet
you with a smile. Who couldn’t use that everyday when they come home
from work? |
