Fern Watch Fern on

My
name is Fern and I am a female Walker Hound born approximately 7/07. I
am up to date on shots, spayed and tested negative for heartworms.
My savior found me cowering in the middle of the
highway destined to be hit by one, if not several, cars. She ran to my
side and got me out of the dangerous position I had somehow gotten
myself into. After trying to locate any owners that I might have had,
it was decided that I was one without a family.
I
am a very submissive girl and I get along with other dogs and cats. I
have been working on my housebreaking at my current residence and am
doing ok with it. I weight approximately 45 pounds, am a sweet loving
girl and have the typical hound bark (howl). It’s not that I’m real
talkative, just wanted to give you a heads up on my vocals. I love to
be rubbed and petted and would love to have a family of my own. |

As
fine wine, I’ve aged to perfection. As diamond clarity, I’m “FL”
(which is completely flawless). In comparison to my fuzzy four-legged
friends, I am the “Crème de la crème”.
I’m Elsie “the cow”. I
got my name because I’m overweight. Feel free to adopt me, put me on a
diet and change my name to something more sexy. Or just adopt, put me
on a diet and keep my current name.
My previous owners dumped
me in a parking lot. I hung around waiting on them to come back, but
they must have gotten lost. Another kind soul did find me though and
promised to hold onto me until CAAWS could find me a permanent home.
I
am a Lab/Corgi mix born approximately 7/02. I’m now up to date on
shots, have been spayed and tested positive for heartworms. If someone
would like to adopt me now, CAAWS will pay for the treatment.
I’m very laid back, get
along with dogs, cats, and children and am very, very loyal.

Charlie

Charlie,
and his siblings, Sally, Molly and Wally were rescued from a local
animal control facility. The person who pulled them so they would be
able to be put up for adoption felt they were all just too darn adorable
and adoptable to be at animal control.
They are, best guess, Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle dog
mixes and were born 2/22/10. Charlie, obviously male, is up to date on
shots, neutered and current on heartworm prevention.
If
we are correct about the DNA, these dogs need room to run and activity
to keep them busy from puppyhood throughout adulthood.
They are usually not your couch potato type (unless it
is bed time or their favorite movie is on the tube). Which one of these
cuties does your home need? |

KoKo

KoKo (Red Female) and Camo (Dapple Male) are sister and brother. Not
literally from the same litter (as Camo is one year older than KoKo),
but they have lived together their whole lives.
Their
previous owner ran into some bad luck and deserted them, so Camo and
KoKo where left all alone in their home for approximately two weeks
before someone realized and saved them. They are now a happy part of
the CAAWS family and looking for a “smaller” family to call their own.
KoKo is a female Dachshund born approximately 1/07. She
is spayed, up to date on shots and heartworm negative. KoKo loves
being dried with a towel and she walks well on a leash. She can be a
bit of a digger in the yard if left unattended.
She loves all her people, but will usually pick one
family member that she will bond more with, and sometimes be a little
protective over, as her favorite. She would not do well with small
children in the home, but would love if you would adopt she and her
brother, Camo, together. |

(Dapple Male) and KoKo (Red Female) are brother and sister. Not

Camo is a male Dachshund born approximately 1/06. He is
neutered, up to date on shots and heartworm negative. Camo loves taking
baths and being dried with a towel, he walks well on a leash, loves to
eat, play with his ball (and other toys) and will quickly get into a
game of tug-o-war with KoKo or a human.
He
can be a bit of a digger in the yard if left unattended. He will
sometimes get a tad territorial of things if allowed to take them into
hiding and you try to retrieve them, so small children in the home would
not be a good match. He is a sweet little guy who wants a family to
call his own and would love for his sister, KoKo to be adopted with him. |

Shirley
The name’s Shirley, and I’m a female Terrier/Lab mix born approximately
1/07.
I am up to date on shots, spayed and heartworm negative.
Here’s the scoop on me. Late one night, my previous people dumped my
sister, Laverne, and I on the road because they decided they didn’t love
us anymore. I don’t get it. What’s not to love.
We
get along great with other dogs (especially with each other - in case
you’re looking for two), cats and adults. We are very shy at first, so a
home without small children would be best for us. Anyway, since getting
out of the car wasn’t an option, here we are – cute, sweet, loving and
available.
Everyone tells us we will not be that way for long (the available part
of course) and I sure hope they are right. |
